T3 - Fluorescence contrast

This Working Group deals with the problem of computing 3D reconstructions with chemical sensitivity by fluorescence contrast tomography. The fact that the X-rays transmitted by the sample are attenuated by the surrounding materials leads to a complex, nonlinear reconstruction problem.

Research tasks for this Working Group include:
(a) Incorporating approximate object models in the reconstruction algorithm to simulate the absorption of the transmitted X-rays.
(b) Developing algorithms for combined reconstruction of the emitted X-ray signal and the surrounding absorbing materials.
